Job summary

This role integrates with actuarial, finance, and underwriting teams to deliver dashboards and reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or a similar field is required.
  • MBA or CPCU/FCAS is preferred.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and data manipulation skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Price and review product filings, rules, and pricing components.
  • Collaborate with Predictive Modeling for pricing models support.
  • Evaluate rating structures using actuarial concepts and proposals.
  • Develop filing support documentation for new models and product changes.
  • Create product forms and marketing materials for approved revisions.
  • Analyze product performance across rate and loss metrics to identify improvements.
  • Support performance tracking with Actuarial, Finance, and Underwriting.

Purpose:

The Product Analyst supports the Line of Business (LOB) pod by delivering analytical and operational expertise across rate, form, rule, and regulatory-driven initiatives. This role informs product strategy through internal performance analysis and external market insights. At higher levels, Product Analysts lead competitive and market intelligence efforts, helping guide pricing, coverage design, and product positioning to support profitability and growth.

Roles & Responsibilities:
Pricing, Modeling & Product Development
  • Price and execute limited, full, complex, form, and rule product reviews, including development of filings, rules, algorithms, and supporting exhibits
  • Partner with Predictive Modeling to determine support and selection for new pricing models
  • Apply actuarial concepts, business intent, and proposal materials to evaluate and recommend rating structures
  • Develop and maintain countrywide filing support documentation for new models and product changes
  • Create product forms using proposed language and complete marketing materials for approved revisions
Performance Analysis & Strategy Support
  • Analyze product performance across rate, retention, and loss ratio metrics to identify improvement opportunities
  • Collaborate with Actuarial, Finance, and Underwriting to support performance tracking and product optimization
  • Produce dashboards and reporting tools to support decision-making by the LOB Lead and Product Manager
Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis
  • Conduct state-specific and national competitor research to assess pricing strategies, coverage offerings, form design, and market positioning
  • Identify and track emerging trends in underwriting, rate actions, and market shifts to inform product strategy
  • Provide strategic recommendations based on market intelligence and competitive benchmarks
    Higher-level Product Analysts lead this function and guide related tactical decisions.
Quality & Compliance
  • Manage and align product and underwriting rule changes across stakeholders prior to release
  • Conduct peer reviews to uphold analytical accuracy and documentation quality
  • Support audit functions, including data validation and compliance review activities
  • Follow PDLC processes and support continuous improvement in workflows and product operations
Required Technical Skills:
  • Strong command of Excel (including macros), MS Office Suite applications, and computer systems.
  • Knowledge of data gathering and manipulation techniques and tools such as Access, SQL.
  • Strong analytical abilities including mathematics and statistical concepts.
  • Use of RADAR and/or Earnix for impact, rate structure, quality and market analysis.
Education, Certifications & Designations:
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree Business, Accounting, Finance or similar field
Preferred:
  • MBA or similar advanced degree, CPCU and/or FCAS
