Overview
UPMC Health Plan is hiring a full-time Product Administration Specialist Associate. This role will work in a hybrid structure in downtown Pittsburgh's US Steel Tower.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a mentor to new employees and participate in cross-training with peers, with the goal of maintaining a cross-functional team.
- Assist with and support process improvement as a whole.
- Handle all incoming requests for new sales and renewals by creating plan documents and facilitating all relevant aspects of the process as determined by leadership.
- Answer and track all inquiries received through the Health Plan Benefit Request email box.
- Remain current on all departmental policies and procedures.
- Proactively report issues and/or trends, and offer solutions for process improvement.
- Actively participate in any and all information and projects related to Healthcare Reform.
- Follow up on all responsibilities in a timely manner or as set forth by established turnaround times. Communicate accordingly when timeframes are outside reasonable expectations.
- Participate positively in various workgroups by offering valuable input, taking action on relevant items, and coordinating between departments as requested by leadership.
- Submit weekly status report to leadership, outlining all work activity.
- Work with a variety of functional areas within the organization to assist in the creation and implementation of new products.
- Retain a working knowledge of national accounts, grandfathering, PPACA, and other specialized employer group scenarios.
- Maintain full ownership of all plan documents created and maintained by the Product Administration team, including format, verbiage, necessary approvals, mailings, mapping to network drive/SharePoint/DRC, etc.
- Understand, interpret and effectively articulate to all levels and departments, all aspects of the various Commercial products and plan designs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, health care, management, a related field or relevant experience.
- 2 years of business experience required with a strong preference for experience in health care insurance and/or industry required.
- Knowledge of Commercial product is a bonus.
- Experience in product administration or development a plus, but not required.
- Strong computer skills required, with proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word and Internet Explorer.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels and all departments.
- Good working relationships with key areas involved in the product administration process.
- Positive, professional attitude and enthusiastic demeanor.
- Ability to work independently, multitask and manage multiple projects, with minimal or no direction from leadership.
