FOX Weather is seeking a creative and fast-thinking Producer, Social Strategy & Creative Content to join our Content Core team in New York. The role focuses on turning real-time weather news into highly visual, shareable content across digital and social platforms.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in a high-volume digital newsroom, strong editing skills, and platform expertise (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram). A Bachelor's degree is preferred, and candidates must be flexible for varied shifts,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of relevant experience in a high-volume digital newsroom or media environment
• Experience producing multimedia content for YouTube and vertical-video platforms (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts)
• Proficiency with video editing suites (Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, Photoshop)
• Strong news judgment, writing skills, and ability to translate weather content into engaging visuals
• Experience developing social-first content and adapting stories for multiple platforms
• Familiarity with newsroom tools like Airtable, WordPress, Jira, and WSI graphics
• Interest in weather news, live coverage, visual storytelling, and emerging media trends
• Willingness to work varied shifts including weekends and major weather events

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute social and visual content strategies across YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, X, and emerging platforms
• Produce, edit, and publish short-form video, vertical video, visuals, and other native content
• Source and repackage viral UGC to showcase real-time weather stories quickly

• Monitor breaking weather news and pitch creative content ideas for social and live streams

JOB DESCRIPTION

Fox Weather is looking for a creative and forward-thinking Producer, Social Strategy & Creative Content to join our Content Core team, the center of our weather newsroom and storytelling operation. This role will help power our rapidly expanding presence across digital and social platforms by turning real-time weather news and extreme weather events into highly visual, shareable, and culturally relevant content that propels our growth in the new media space. The ideal candidate combines strong news judgment, video production and editing skills, platform expertise, and creative instincts to produce content that captures attention, informs audiences, and strengthens FOX Weather’s digital presence. A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and execute social and visual content strategies across YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, X, and emerging digital platforms
• Conceptualize, produce, edit, and publish short-form video, vertical video, visual graphics, and other platform-native content
• Track down, clear, and creatively repackage viral user-generated content (UGC) to showcase real-time weather stories with speed.
• Translate complex weather information, meteorological data, and breaking developments into clear, visually engaging content.
• Write and produce digital stories for foxweather.com that complement social initiatives and expand cross-platform reach.
• Monitor breaking weather news, identify compelling editorial angles, and pitch creative content for social platforms and live streams
• Track platform analytics to optimize video performance, experiment with new video formats, and adapt to visual media algorithms
• Collaborate with meteorologists, reporters, producers, editors, and other members of the FOX Weather team

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience 3+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of skills and demonstrated experience
• Experience producing multimedia content for a high-volume digital newsroom, media organization, or creator-focused environment
• Demonstrated experience creating content for YouTube and vertical-video platforms, including TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts
• Proficiency with video editing suites including Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, Photoshop, or similar software
• Strong news judgment, writing skills, and an understanding of what makes content timely, engaging, and shareable.
• Experience developing social-first content and adapting stories for different platforms and audiences.
• Familiarity with newsroom tools such as Airtable, WordPress, Jira, and WSI graphics
• A strong interest in weather news, live coverage, visual storytelling, and emerging media trends
• Willingness to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, early mornings, evenings, and during major weather events.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $67,000.00-90,000.00 annually.

This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
