Job summary

KYTX-T, the TEGNA-owned CBS affiliate in Tyler, Texas, is seeking an innovative Producer to shape our daily newscasts. You will craft stories for broadcast and digital platforms, pitch ideas, and collaborate with a tight-knit team to deliver compelling local news.

This entry-level to junior producer position requires strong writing, newsroom basics, and the ability to meet deadlines; ENPS and Edius experience is preferred, and applicants should demonstrate a passion for community-focused

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in journalism, communications or related field or equivalent years of experience.
• 0-1 years of news content experience.
• Top-notch communication skills are an absolute must.
• Solid journalistic judgement with a focus on accurate, fair local content and community engagement.
• Skills in producing engaging, content-driven newscasts and digital content.
• Strong social media skills with active presence on preferred platforms.
• Ability to work under deadlines and handle live breaking news calmly.
• ENPS and Edius system experience preferred.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in journalism, communications or related field or equivalent years of experience.
• 0-1 years of news content experience.
• Top-notch communication skills are an absolute must.
• Solid journalistic judgement and a news philosophy that emphasizes accurate, fair and unique local content, along with community engagement.
• Understanding of the tenets of professional journalism.
• Skills in producing engaging, content-driven newscasts and digital content.
• Strong social media skills, including an active news hound presence on your preferred social platforms.
• Organizational skills and the ability to work under time pressure deadlines.
• Ability to calmly handle live, breaking news situations and changing events.
• ENPS and Edius system experience preferred.
