Job summary

Giant Eagle is seeking a Produce Team Leader to manage the entire Produce Team and guide Team Members and guests on the freshest seasonal offerings. You will be responsible for operating performance, professional representation of the organization, and fostering mutual respect, inclusion, and dignity.

Qualifications

• Experience Required: 3 to 5 years

Responsibilities

• Interview, select and train Team Members
• Direct the work of Team Members
• Appraise Team Members’ productivity and efficiency for promotions or changes in status
• Handle Team Member issues including complaints
• Discipline Team Members
• Plan the work
• Distribute or assign the work among Team Members
• Provide for safety and security of Team Members or the store
• Manage the budget for your department or location
• Manage inventory for your department or location
• Monitor or implement compliance measures
• Direct, oversee, and evaluate training to reduce turnover and labor costs
• Provide motivational leadership focusing on respect and setting an exemplary example
• Identify strengths and opportunities of the team and schedule strategically
• Develop future leaders and promote growth
• Nurture an environment of inclusion and diversity
• Maintain safety as top priority
• Inspire the team and guests with passion for food
• Set and reach aggressive sales and profit goals while managing shrink
• Establish ongoing communication with the team and ensure members are informed and prepared

Job Responsibilities

• Set and reach aggressive sales and profit goals by making suggestions when appropriate, while also managing shrink.
• Establish an ongoing communication plan with the team, ensuring that all Team Members are informed and prepared to put their best food forward!
• Communicate with the merchandising team to ensure that promotions are properly communicated to Team Members and guests.
• Make innovative plans and suggestions to improve our business.
• Review and analyze both stores financial, LOB reports, and historical reports to improve performance in sales, profits, shrink, labor controls, and reduction.
• Oversee period inventories for accuracy and monitor weekly fluctuations in inventory and shrink dollars.

The hiring range for this position is $20.25– $27.00 per hour/year. This range represents the anticipated base pay for this role. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, education, and location. Eligible employees may be offered health, vision, and dental insurance, personal/sick paid time, 401(k) retirement savings plan, bonus potential, paid bereavement, vacation and paid holidays.
