Job summary

Meijer is seeking a store leadership professional to oversee daily operations across departments in our Waterville Township location. You will mentor staff, drive customer service, manage staffing and hiring, and ensure sales goals are met while maintaining company standards.

The role requires 2–3 years of related retail experience, plus at least 1 year in a management capacity. You will help with development paths, disciplina plans, and cross-department rotations to strengthen operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; also customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members in the organization in a way that provides clear and precise direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict by addressing root cause issues.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions. Demonstrated ability to teach suggestive selling.
• Demonstrated ability to lead an organization that practices working safely at all times
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members in all areas of the organization including SDITs, team members in hourly positions and team leaders.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day operations within various departments of the store.
• Mentor and coach team members; implement strategies to improve customer service and store sales.
• Maintain store appearance with focus on prime shopping hours, product presentation and company standards.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to achieve staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning by providing career paths and development for team members; participate in promotion decisions.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions and make recommendations concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Ensure team training across all aspects of their jobs and required training.
