Responsibilities
- Maintains full stock conditions on produce and floral display racks, tables, and shelves.
- Operates pallet jack to unload product from warehouse trucks and reload trucks with return items.
- Ensures dated product is stocked, rotated, or discarded properly if unsold.
- Inspects product for quality and maintains quality control and food safety standards.
- Collects empty cardboard boxes and other trash and places into bailer.
- Assists customers by answering questions, locating product, and responding to price checks.
- Promotes product sales through suggestive selling.
- Provides friendly customer service by greeting customers and addressing questions or complaints.
- Maintains a clean, safe, sanitary environment by following company safety procedures and policies.
- Practices high sanitary standards for handling raw and uncooked food products.
- Prepares equipment for operation and checks working order under supervision; partners must be 18+ to operate equipment.
- Uses sharp tools safely and trims product to ensure high quality presentation.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to operate manual or electric pallet jack.
- Ability to safely operate and maintain department equipment.
- Ability to handle items carefully to avoid damage to items, people, vehicles, and property.
- Ability to work with sharp objects such as knives and box cutters.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and work well with teammates.
- Ability to learn new technology systems and processes; flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Attentiveness to hazards and the ability to place warnings when needed; report hazards to a supervisor.
Education, Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum age of 18; must be 18+ to operate and clean motorized equipment; 21+ to drive for company business per policy.
- Food Handler certification required.
- Typically involves on-the-job training.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and use vision and hearing.
- Repetitively use hands for reaching, handling, and gripping.
- Push, pull, or lift up to 40 lbs continuously and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
- Frequently bend, kneel, or squat; occasional climbing and walking in varied temperatures.
Work Context and Environment
- Retail store setting with occasional exposure to extreme cold, wet or damp conditions, and cleaning agents.
- Quiet to moderate noise level; attendance at work required.
