Kj’s Market in the United States seeks a Produce Department Lead who brings a friendly, team-focused approach and a hands-on work style. You will supervise staff, coordinate scheduling, and ensure safe, efficient operations in a fast-paced grocery environment.

Key duties include maintaining inventory, managing fresh produce displays, following company policies, and delivering excellent guest service while upholding sanitation and food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Follow weekly company sales program to attain maximum sales volume.
• Achieve budgeted gross profit figures as established by Produce Merchandising Department.
• Prepare all produce records as required by Accounting & Merchandising Departments.
• Follow all company policies related to weighing, pricing, packaging, and displaying of merchandise.
• Unload trucks and maintain backroom storage.
• Maintains coolers and freezers to standard.
• Accountable for inventory control.
• Reinforce sanitation, safe food handling practices, security, safety, and company guidelines.
• Assist guests and maintain good guest relations.
• Consult with Store Manager to review meat operations, and advanced planning and scheduling, to ensure company objectives are met.
• Responsible for scheduling of the department.
• Ensures the department is run in compliance with company standards (as measured by ALI audits).
• Ensures direct reports understand expectations for performance, holds them accountable to achieve productivity goals and meets with them to review performance and provide feedback (ongoing and annual performance appraisal).
• Personally responsible for teaching and training departmental staff. Additionally, builds a talent planning bench for the department, including developing and executing development plans for all high-potential and promotable individuals.
• All other tasks as assigned by management.
