The Fresh Market in Wilmette, IL is seeking a Produce & Floral Specialist to oversee produce, floral and gift center departments, ensuring freshness, proper rotation, and attractive presentation. You will own inventory accuracy and support guest engagement during promotions, with a focus on hospitality and teamwork.

The role requires attention to detail, stamina, and the ability to work weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in retail, grocery, restaurant, or hospitality operations.
• Strong attention to detail with organizational skills, ability to multitask, and work at a fast pace.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsabilités

• Ensure all produce, floral & gift center products meet freshness and quality standards, including proper rotation and dating.
• Execute planograms and maintain accurate product placement and signage.
• Coordinate with department leadership on ordering and replenishment of produce, floral & gift center items.
• Verify deliveries for accuracy and freshness, ensuring proper receiving and storage procedures.
• Play a key role in compliance during key item transitions and promotional events.
• Support front-end operations during peak business times as a cashier or in other areas.
• Engage guests with a friendly, helpful approach on the sales floor.

About the Position:

As theProduce & FloralSpecialist, you will be the store’s point person forproduce,floral& gift centerdepartment excellence,ensuring product freshness, merchandising accuracy, and compliance with food safety standards. This role embodies passion, excellence, hospitality, and teamwork,delivering an exceptional guest experience whilemaintainingoperational integrity. You will ownproduce,floral&gift centerinventory accuracy, rotation standards, and presentation, while supporting guest engagement and department readiness for promotions and seasonal events.

The pay range for this position is $18.19 - $19.40 per hour.

Availability:

This position requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.

Qualifications:

At a minimum, what you’ll need:

• 2+ years of experience in retail, grocery, restaurant, or hospitality operations.
• Strong attention to detail with organizational skills, ability to multitask, and work at a fast pace.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Retail, culinary, and/or grocery experience.
• Experience with electronic shelf label systems, inventory management technology, or AI-enabled retail tools.

Physical and Work Conditions:

• Repetitive hand/arm movements, grasping, bending, reaching, ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds by oneself, and exposure to extreme temperatures.
• Ability to use tools and equipment: knives, ladders, stepstools, box cutters, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
• Required to spend long periods of time on their feet and stand or walk without a break (for up to 4 hours or as required by law).
• Required to wear an approved hat, hair net, and/or beard guard, and personal protective equipment.
