• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Current food handlers permit once employed.
• Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing).
• Comparable Retail experience

Responsibilities

• Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service.
• Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals and monitor quality assurance standards.
• Encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service and embody core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
• Answer questions about products and assist customers in finding items throughout the store.
• Maintain knowledge of products in the department and respond with suggestions to customers.
• Prepare, package, label and inventory merchandise as needed.
• Inspect products for quality and freshness and take appropriate action on items.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise and report discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude and stay current with ads, promotions, and seasonal changes.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain temperature logs.
• Follow safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions, notifying management as required.
• Provide help and support through direct interaction with diverse customer groups including minors and older adults.
