Job summary

The Kroger Company, City Market in Colorado, is hiring for a Produce Department role. You will oversee daily department operations, ensure product quality and safety, and deliver exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include leading associates, planning schedules, managing inventory and pricing, executing promotions, and collaborating with store management to meet sales goals while upholding company values and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral/written communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Current food handlers permit upon employment.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Any management experience preferred.
• Any produce/retail experience preferred.
• Second language preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates, with a positive attitude.
• Communicate department information to associates.
• Establish department performance goals and empower associates to meet targets.
• Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume.
• Train and develop associates and participate in performance appraisals.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and informed.
• Inform customers of produce specials and offer product samples.
• Review products for quality and freshness and take action.
• Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve results.
• Create and execute sales promotions with store management.
• Educate associates about promotions.
• Assist management with department budget, expense control, and financial reporting.
• Schedule price changes and update shelf tags.
• Plan and organize inventory and CAO processes.
• Ensure proper temperatures and maintain temperature logs.
• Reinforce safety programs and report safety risks or incidents.
• Adhere to laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment and manage conflicts constructively.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding information.
• Follow directions and seek help when needed.
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
