Job summary

Weis Markets is seeking an Assistant Produce Manager in a full-time role to lead customer service, merchandising, and daily Produce operations. You will work closely with the Produce Manager to maintain stock freshness, plan weekly ads, and ensure accurate product reporting.

You will oversee scheduling, training, and performance recognition for department staff while controlling costs and optimizing product availability to meet shopper demand.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's in business/food service desirable.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in management in retail/restaurant/supermarket environment.

Responsibilities

• Promotes excellent customer relations by instilling positive customer-focused behavior with associates.
• Takes customer orders and ensures timely, accurate product preparation.
• Maintains fresh quality merchandise using proper handling techniques and reduces shrink.
• Assists Produce Manager in day-to-day Produce operations and coverage in their absence.
• Develops and implements merchandising plans to meet financial goals and align with weekly ads.
• Oversees inventories via weekly sales reports and supply orders; supports period-end counts.
• Schedules department associates and trains, recognizing performance and delegating work.
• Manages inventory levels and backroom organization for product availability and signage.
• Verifies deliveries, processes invoices, and ensures proper receiving and dating.
