Job summary

Ridleys-Family-Markets-Inc is seeking an entry-level Produce Associate to support the Produce department in our store. You will handle customer service, assist with product preparation, and help ensure department standards are met.

No experience required. You must be at least 18 years old (21 to sell tobacco/alcohol) and may need forklift/pallet jack certification for certain tasks; basic math and safety knowledge are expected.

Qualifications

• Certification required for operation of forklift and/or pallet jack.
• Food handlers permit may be required.
• No experience required.
• Minimum age 18; 21 to sell tobacco/alcohol.

Responsibilities

• Exhibit and develop maximum customer relations through friendly and courteous behavior.
• Promote a high level of morale within department and store, utilizing friendly but professional methods of honest and open communication.
• Comply with all company policies, programs and directives as specified in the Code of Conduct.
• Know and have the ability to cost out all material to determine proper retails.
• Possess sufficient knowledge and ability to teach others all fundamentals of produce production (slicing, peeling, stacking, organizing, washing, finishing).
• Assist in maintaining effective department security in compliance with company policy and directives.
• Maintain awareness of competitive activity within the store marketing areas as it relates to the Produce Department.
• Maintain adequate and appropriate department records at all times.
