Job summary

Adams Hometown Markets in Connecticut is seeking a Produce Manager to oversee daily operations of the produce department. You will ensure quality, manage inventory, supervise staff, and deliver excellent customer service while achieving sales targets.

You will monitor freshness, rotate stock, train staff, and enforce health and safety standards across the department. The role requires a full-time schedule, wage $25.00–$27.00 per hour, and ServeSafe or equivalent certification.

Qualifications

• Preferred: One (1) year retail experience or relevant experience
• ServeSafe certification or comparable

Responsibilities

• Promote a positive shopping experience while maintaining an organized produce department
• Monitor quality and freshness of produce to meet customer expectations
• Ensure proper handling, storage and rotation of produce to minimize waste
• Order and replenish produce inventory based on sales trends and seasonal availability
• Conduct regular inventory counts, managing overstock and minimizing shrink
• Arrange produce in an organized and visually appealing manner per merchandising plans
• Address customer complaints or concerns professionally to ensure satisfaction
• Train and supervise produce staff to ensure efficient operations and policy adherence
• Provide ongoing coaching, performance management and feedback
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and proper sanitation
• Enforce cleanliness standards within the produce department
• Analyze sales data, identify trends and recommend pricing/promotions adjustments
• Adhere to all company safety standards
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
