Job summary

Tony's Fresh Market in Bolingbrook, IL is seeking a Produce Clerk to help customers select high-quality items and maintain vibrant displays. You will stock cases, ensure food safety, and keep the area clean and organized for everyday shoppers.

You will greet customers, respond to questions, and support our team with deliveries and merchandising. The role requires standing and moving in a fast-paced grocery environment, with hours from 7am to 10pm daily.

Responsibilities

• Greeting and building rapport with customers.
• Display a friendly and outgoing attitude through good eye contact and body language.
• Respond to customer questions in an effective manner.
• Stock products and maintain product displays according to merchandising standards.
• Process deliveries, breaking load down onto stock carts or pallets and transferring to the sales floor.
• Comply with Company policies on freshness dating and safety procedures.
• Maintain clean work areas by consolidating and organizing the product.Basic department cleaning upkeep.
• Follow safety and sanitation procedures to ensure quality service and products for our customers.
• Organize items on shelves, remove expired products from displays, and assist shoppers in their daily needs.
• May perform other duties as assigned or required.

As a Produce Clerk

You will provide product suggestions and assist customers with any questions. You will stock cases and ensure that our customers have a variety of high-quality produce items to choose from. You will ensure complete compliance with food safety and sanitation requirements throughout your daily work. You will clean and sanitize produce department areas, preparation areas, and equipment periodically.

• Regularly required to stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk about the store.
• The work environment is typical of a retail store. The noise level ranges from quiet to loud.
• The Produce department is cooler than most areas in the store so must adapt and be comfortable in a cooler-than-normal temperature environment.
• Minimal sitting is required.

Disclaimer

Pay scale $15.00 - $20.00

The pay scale above is the hourly wage range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position. *Manager roles have a bonus target potential paid out quarterly based on company results/metrics.

Within this range, individual pay is determined by location and other factors including, but not limited to, specific skills, relevant work experience, and relevant education and/or training. The Company offers competitive medical, dental, vision, and supplemental benefits to its team members. Team Members are also able to participate in the company's 401k plan that includes a safe harbor match.
