Job summary

Gerrity's Supermarkets in Northeastern Pennsylvania is seeking a Produce Clerk to support the Produce Manager in daily operations. You will present yourself professionally, provide friendly customer service, and ensure quality and signage for all produce.

You will weigh, wrap, rotate, restock, assist in receiving, maintain clean and safe displays, follow safety policies, and adhere to dress code. The role requires reliability and physical stamina.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, analyze, and understand English proficiently.
• Employee must stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and taste or smell as part of duties.
• Regularly stand, reach with hands and arms, and manipulate objects.
• Ability to perform close, distant, and color vision tasks and adjust focus.
• Must be able to calculate figures, amounts, discounts, and percentages.
• Must be able to lift, bend, and twist with up to 80 pounds.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, wrap, and weigh all produce products.
• Maintain a professional, organized display of products.
• Restock counters on the sales floor, pull any poor quality produce.
• Responsible for proper rotating of product.
• Assist in the receiving and unloading of product.
• Responsible for ensuring that all products have their proper signs.

Job Description

The Produce Clerk is responsible for performing duties as directed by the Produce Manager and/or Assistant Produce Manager for the successful operation of the Produce Department. It is essential that as a Produce Clerk, you will present yourself in a professional and courteous manner at all times while performing your defined responsibilities. You are responsible for always maintaining our high standards of Customer Service. Other duties may be assigned as required, depending upon the available time, business volume and other criteria as determined by your appropriate supervisors and/or Gerrity's Supermarkets. Full compliance with current and future policies will be required to ensure that your work contribution is in the best interest of Gerrity's Supermarkets.
