Job summary

ShopRite of Clinton is seeking a Produce Clerk to price, stock, rotate, and maintain a visually appealing Produce Department, delivering a great customer experience. Duties include assisting customers, handling promotions, and ensuring safety and compliance with company policies.

The role requires physical ability to lift up to 60 lbs, stand for long shifts, and work in varying temperatures, with opportunities for benefits and consistent scheduling.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand English.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to stand/walk for entire shift.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs regularly and up to 60 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Promote current charitable promotions to customers.
• Maintain a clean, neat, organized, and safe work environment.
• Differentiate produce types by taste, seasonality, preparation, and price differences.
• Follow procedures for receiving, dating, storing, pricing, and restocking.
• Maintain sanitation, QA standards, and report equipment issues.
• Operate a baler and compactor as needed.
• Adhere to health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Keep display cases stocked and clearly signed.
• Ensure proper temperature and freshness of products.
• Assist in managing damaged goods and inventory.
