Job summary

La Montañita Food Cooperative is seeking a Produce Clerk responsible for customer relations and the proper handling, packaging, and merchandising of all produce items. You will ensure the department stays clean, safe, and appealing while assisting in inventory, labeling, and stocking duties.

The role requires strong communication, math basics, and a commitment to safety and PPE protocols; ServSafe/food safety certification is preferred or obtainable within one month.

Qualifications

• Customer service oriented with the full customer service cycle.
• Ability to follow safety, regulatory and wellness guidelines; PPE use required.
• Food safety certification or ability to obtain within 1 month.

Responsibilities

• Handle produce processing, sanitation, pricing, labeling, and stocking of produce products.
• Respond to customers, answer questions, and provide product information to enhance satisfaction.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the department; assist in inventory counts and store projects as needed.
