Job summary

El Rancho Supermercado is hiring a Produce Clerk to support inventory and display preparation. You will trim, wash, band, wrap, and rotate produce goods, build displays, and maintain department schematics while keeping coolers clean.

Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred and previous produce experience is a plus. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Ensure freshness and quality through rotation of product.
• Inventory merchandise on hand and assist with counts.
• Set up and maintain all displays; ensure pricing and signage is correct.
• Maintain neat and orderly coolers and clean work area.
• Cut fruits and vegetables for sale in packages; unload trucks as needed.
• Work cross functionally with other departments and follow instructions.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Produce Clerk is responsible for assisting with inventory counts, preparing product for display by trimming, washing, banding and /or wrapping produce goods. Build, rotate and maintain product displays, maintain department schematics, clean and sanitize work area, and monitor temperatures in coolers and cases. Product knowledge, unload trucks and organize inventory.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Ensure freshness and quality through rotation of product
• Inventory merchandise on hand
• Set-up and maintain all displays
• Assist manager in maintaining pricing and signage
• Maintain neat and orderly coolers
• Use and maintenance of sprinkler wet on produce
• Cut fruits and vegetables to be sold in packages
• Maintain cleanliness of scales
• All other duties assigned within the department
• Work cross functionally with other departments

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma, GED equivalent required
• Previous experience in produce departments/supermarkets, a plus
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
