Job summary

Fiesta Mart in Garland, TX is seeking a Produce Clerk for Store 054. Join our fast-paced grocery team and deliver friendly customer service while maintaining fresh produce displays for a diverse community.

Under the Produce Manager's supervision, you will assist customers, stock and rotate produce, keep displays clean, and lift up to 50 lb (and heavier as needed). Bilingual ability and basic PC skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Read and write Spanish/English, interact with general public and co-workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service and assist customers with produce selections.
• Clean, fill and rotate the produce displays and maintain fresh, organized shelves.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision of Produce Manager, the Produce Clerk provides customer service. Assists customers, cleans, fills and rotates the perishable (produce) displays. Must be able to lift 50 lbs, bend, stand and stoop for prolonged periods.

The working environment is typical for a fast-paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
