Kroger Co. in Illinois is seeking a customer service-oriented team member to provide outstanding service, promote corporate brands and maintain a clean, safe environment.

You will assist the department manager in achieving sales goals and ensure high QA standards are followed. The role emphasizes friendly customer interactions, knowledge of produce, safety procedures, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced store setting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).

• Assist with the preparation produce platters/trays
• Inform customers of produce specials
• Recommend items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need
• Adequately prepare, package, label and inventory merchandise
• Review/inspect products for quality and freshness and take action
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager
• Display a positive attitude
• Stay current with ads
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are maintained
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs
• Notify management of accidents
• Report safety risks or illegal activity to store management
• Ability to work cooperatively in high paced environments
• Ability to manage conflict in a constructive manner
• Ability to act with honesty and integrity
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues
• Provide support and assistance with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults

Job Description
