Three Bears Alaska, Inc. is seeking a Produce Clerk to trim, wrap and merchandise fresh produce while delivering exemplary customer service in a fast-paced store environment.

The role involves standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and strict adherence to health codes and sanitation standards. Both part-time and full-time schedules are available, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Food Handling Certification as required by local government.

Responsibilities

• Trim, wrap and merchandise produce for display.
• Reworks display case to meet daily production needs and rotates product.
• Determine product quality for markdowns and culling to optimize quality and minimize shrink.
• Store and rotate stock; assist in front end duties as necessary.

Role Description

Produce Clerks trim, wrap and merchandise raw produce for sale and provide and ensure exemplary customer service and satisfaction.

Produce Clerks trim, wrap and merchandise raw produce for sale and provide and ensure exemplary customer service and satisfaction.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Reworks display case to assess daily production needs and rotates product.
• Determines product quality for mark downs and culling to optimize quality and minimize shrink.
• Trims, soaks, and prepares product for display.
• Stores and rotates stock.
• Brings cases of produce from cooler to prepare for display.
• Cleans and sanitizes area throughout the day.
• Performs duties to comply with health code, such as sanitation standards and maintaining proper temperatures.
• Operate manual pallet jack, wheeled carts, trash compactor, cardboard baler, product marking gun, shrink wrap machine, wrench, screwdriver, pliers, box knife, trim knife, computer, spreadsheet programs, e-mail.
• Occasionally operate cash register, handheld scanners, computer, fax machine, phone, printer.
• Assists with front end duties as necessary.
• Assists in other departments of the store as necessary.
• Performs other functions as necessary or assigned.

Experience/Education

• A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
• Food Handling Certification as required by local government.

Working Environment

Work is performed in a store setting with ability to speak and receive phone communications often. Work requires computer usage with strength, dexterity, coordination and visual acuity to use keyboard and video display terminal and other office equipment. Continuously standing, walking, reaching at/below shoulders, frequently lift/carry up to 50 pounds below waist, up to 50 pounds at waist/chest and occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds.
