Job summary

Carlie C’s IGA is seeking a Produce Clerk to deliver prompt, friendly customer service and support the produce department. You will stock counters, slice melons, and handle duties from stocking to cleaning, ensuring the department runs smoothly.

Responsibilities include maintaining quality produce, operating in refrigerated areas, and assisting customers with a courteous attitude while upholding uniform standards.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and able to stand, bend, stoop and lift up to 75 lbs.
• Must enjoy working with the public.
• Must be able to read shelf tags, labels and signs.
• Must be able to write invoices and maintain paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Ability to deal with sudden temperature change.
• Observe produce quality, ensuring proper rotation.
• Prepare produce for sale and display in a safe, orderly manner.
• Keep sales area and back room clean and clutter-free.
• Unload truck and store in proper cooler.

• Observe uniform standards and maintain a neat appearance.

A Produce Clerk at Carlie C’s IGA realizes that providing prompt and friendly customer service is priority #1. Being courteous and cooperative with both customer and coworker is a critical aspect of maximizing sales and building business for years to come.

As a Produce Clerk, you’ll handle everything from stocking the produce counters, to slicing melons, and everything in between. Preparing and Serving, Inventory and Cleaning. It’s all a part of the Carlie C's Produce Department. How well you perform these things and more will determine how successful you and the department are.

Duties

• Work in refrigerated areas
• Ability to deal with sudden temperature change.
• Observe produce quality, making sure it’s properly rotated.
• Prepare produce in a safe and orderly manner for public sale and display.
• Sales area and back room must be kept clean, and free of clutter.
• Unload truck, work and put in proper cooler.
• Help customers in a friendly, courteous manner.
• Observe Carlie C's Uniform Standards and maintain a neat and clean appearance.
