Job summary

FOOD GIANT SUPERMARKETS INC. is seeking a Produce Clerk to assist in the operation of the produce department, including ordering, merchandising, rotating product, inventory, and profitability.

The role requires working shifts that best serve customers and may include Nights and Weekends. Responsibilities include maintaining the case, ensuring attractive displays, and assisting in all produce-related tasks under the Produce Manager guidance.

Qualifications

• Education: Less than high school education.
• Experience: No prior experience necessary.
• Computer skills: Basic computer skills as needed.
• Other Requirements: Must posess basic math skills. Will be required to wear a back belt.

Responsibilities

• Maintain produce case and keep rotated at all times.
• Responsible for overall appearance and eye appeal of sales floor.
• Assist Produce Manager in ordering all produce.
• Assist Produce Manager in keeping cooler dates organized and rotated.
• Assist Produce Manager in calling in credits within the allowed time.
• Assist Produce Manager with four week period end produce inventory.
• Assist Produce Manager with recording and maintaining bookkeeping systems including weekly/monthly purchases.
• Provide excellent customer service, including friendly, courteous and prompt service.
• Other related tasks as needed.

POSITION SUMMARY

Assist Produce Manager in the operation of the produce department, including but not limited to, ordering,

merchandising, rotating product, inventorying merchandise and profitability.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Maintain produce case and keep rotated at all times.
• Responsible for overall appearance and eye appeal of sales floor.
• Assist Produce Manager in ordering all produce.
• Assist Produce Manager in keeping cooler dates, organized and properly rotated.
• Assist Produce Manager in calling in credits within the allowed time.
• Assist Produce Manager with the four week period end produce inventory.
• Assist Produce Manager with recording and maintaining accurate bookkeeping systems including but not limited to weekly and monthly produce purchases.
• Provide excellent customer service, including but not limited to friendly courteous and prompt customer service.
• Other job related task as needed.
