Job summary

Eataly North America is seeking a Category Analyst, Produce for its corporate team in New York. The role focuses on data analysis, pricing, and category reporting to support profitability in the Produce category.

You will collaborate with the Category Manager to develop insights and guide purchasing decisions, while ensuring data integrity across systems. The position requires strong Excel skills, Power BI experience, and 3+ years in category management or related analytics within grocery/food.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in category management, merchandising, procurement, or retail analytics.
• Strong analytical skills with experience evaluating sales, inventory, pricing, purchasing and profitability.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, Power Query) and financial modeling.
• Experience developing reports and dashboards using Power BI or similar BI software.
• Experience with ERP/merchandising systems (D365, SAP, JDA, Epicor, etc.).
• Knowledge of produce products, seasonality and fresh procurement is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze sales, gross margin, inventory levels, shrink, turns, promotions, and purchasing trends to identify opportunities and risks.
• Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports to support category planning and decision-making.
• Develop pricing recommendations based on costs and competitive landscape; model scenarios and impact.
• Maintain data integrity across product master data, pricing, vendors, and catalogues; audit data quality and drive governance.
• Support procurement activities by reviewing PO activity, inventory movement, and supplier performance.
• Develop dashboards and performance analyses for business reviews and category planning.
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Merchandising, IT and Stores to execute category initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting, pricing and data quality; propose process improvements.
• Perform other duties to support Produce procurement team.
