Job summary

Ingalls Shipbuilding, a division of HII, is seeking a planning professional to manage production schedules, coordinate material requirements, and ensure timely flow of components to support Navy shipbuilding. The role requires coordinating with cross-functional teams to maintain production rhythm and meet program milestones.

You will advise management on work in progress, allocate equipment and personnel, and collaborate across quality, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering and inventory

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 7 years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 3 years of experience.
• Experience reading and interpreting master production schedules and material requirements.
• Ability to coordinate with interdepartmental teams to ensure on-time material and component availability.

The Role

Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements. Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed. Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demands, prepares work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements. Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, etc.; schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.

Must Have

• High School Diploma/GED and 7 years' experience.

• Bachelor's Degree or above and 3 years' experience.

Applicable to Internal Candidates Only - 18 months of experience as a Surveyor-Outside (P) or 1st Class Journeyman
