Position: Procurement Specialist Position Description
Location: Washington DC ( some remote days available )
Clearance: Secret
Salary: Up to $75,000 - $85,000 depending on experience
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in RFQ (Request for Proposal) process and BOM (Bill of Material) generation.
- Assists with tracking, monitoring, and coordinating deliveries with distributors to ensure timely arrival of goods and services.
- Communicate with suppliers to resolve issues and ensure positive relationships.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with regular stock counts, and participate in inventory audits; works directly with inventory management.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and prepare reports as needed; assist Procurement Manager with reporting and/or meetings.
- Assist Procurement manager to ensure compliance with procurement policies and contract requirements.
- Assist with cost analysis and cost-saving initiatives.
- Assist with collaboration with internal stakeholders to identify needs and support other departments.
- Assist Customer with Manufacture Dates, EOL (End of Life) and Item Cost data base assignments
Typical Duties
- Process purchase orders, customer notifications, and maintain procurement documentation.
- Participate in regular inventory audits and stock management.
- Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Data accuracy in procurement documentation.
- Response time on assigned tasks and projects.
- Purchase order cycle time and accuracy.
- Supplier relationship index and accuracy.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Experience: AD/BS 0-2 Years or HS Diploma 6-8 Years. Prefer minimum of 5 years’ experience in procurement, purchasing, and/or supply chain roles.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Good communication and negotiation abilities.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and in teams.
- Understanding procurement best practices and regulations is beneficial.
