Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join the Business Office Group supporting the CMOE at NASA Langley Research Center. The role reports to the Subcontracts Manager and requires adherence to safety policies and Real ID compliance.

Responsibilities include purchasing a range of products/services, maintaining vendor databases, evaluating proposals, and ensuring proper documentation and wage scale administration. US citizenship and security clearance eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship required.
• Six (6) years of progressive and relevant experience in purchasing / material acquisition or related business office management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint; good oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform purchasing of products (COTS, non-numbered/high tech, or custom) and services within approved thresholds.
• Establish competition for purchasing.
• Maintain extensive vendor source database.
• Support procurement by keeping abreast of new products and services.
• Analyze vendor proposals, pricing, discounts, and delivery dates.
• Justify price as fair and reasonable; select procurement sources.
• Coordinate between vendors and requesting department/source.
• Prepare and maintain documentation (vendor info, POs, subcontracts, specs, terms, T&C, certifications).
• Monitor delivery for conformance to PO/subcontract.
• Administer Wage Scale information.
• Invoice subcontractor certified payrolls and files from cradle to grave.

The successful candidate will join the Business Office Group to support the Center Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering Contract (CMOE) located at NASA Langley Research Center. This position reports directly to the Subcontracts Manager.

All safety policies and procedures must be followed.

Responsibilities

• The Procurement Specialist will perform purchasing of products that may be Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS), non-part numbered/high tech or custom developed products, and services appropriate to purchase orders within approved thresholds.
• Establish competition for purchasing
• Maintain extensive vendor source database
• Support the procurement department by keeping abreast of new products and services
• Analyze vendor supplied proposals and pricing, discounts, and delivery dates
• Determine appropriate procurement sources and justify the price is fair and reasonable
• Responsible for coordinating between vendor sources and the requesting department/source
• Prepare, obtain, and maintain required documentation including but not limited to vendor information and status forms, purchase orders, subcontracts, specifications, Terms and Conditions, Certifications, deliverables and supporting documentation utilizing standard forms and negotiated terms and conditions
• Monitor delivery for conformance to the PO/Subcontract
• Administer Wage Scale information
• Invoice subcontractor certified payrolls and subcontractor and PO files from "cradle to grave"

Qualifications

• US Citizenship required.
• Requires six (6) years of progressive and relevant experience in purchasing / material acquisition, or business office management. College courses, or degree, in business administration or appropriate discipline may be substituted for progressive experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint). Requires good oral and written communication skills and analytical capability.

Essential Functions

Work Environment:
Office environment (90%). Travel between various facilities is required and may bring exposure to loud noise and potentially hazardous equipment operation (10%)

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to walk, stand, bend, twist and sit for extended periods as well as climb, crawl, and be able to lift up to 35 lbs. May be exposed to areas of high noise levels (15%)

Equipment and Machines:
Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, copier, etc.) (90%)

Safety and personal protective equipment (10%)

Attendance:
Regular attendance mandatory (100%)
Overtime/work outside normal schedule required (<5%)

Compensation Details:

61,000.00
