Responsibilities
- Provide procurement of goods and services and exceptional service to scientists, engineers, and organizations across the Laboratory.
- Facilitate timely and economical acquisition of standard and complex products and services.
- Create and manage purchase orders using proprietary contract administration software for the entire laboratory.
- Support laboratory staff with expediting procurement actions.
- Contact suppliers to confirm pricing, follow up on past‑due orders, close contracts, and resolve outstanding issues.
- Effectively communicate with laboratory staff and suppliers.
- Support procurement staff in resolving vendor transaction exceptions in Workday.
- Work within a team that fosters transparency and collaboration.
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Full‑time student, at least one semester completed by start of program.
- 18 years or older at appointment.
- Must pass a screening drug test if accepting an offer.
- Majors: Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, Business Management, Finance, Communications, Business Law with interest in supply‑chain management or contract administration.
- Completed two years of undergraduate academics in a business program with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Motivation for a dynamic work environment with competing deadlines.
- Self‑starting and interested in a future business career.
- Desire to learn about accounting, business administration, economics, finance, management information systems, etc.
- Ability to negotiate between large‑scale project goals and individual work assignments.
- Ability to remain composed and confident in difficult situations.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- Strong aptitude for math and processing logic.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Pay Range & Benefits
Hourly pay ranges from $18.08 to $39.17 per hour. The exact pay will be based on scope, responsibilities, qualifications, business considerations, internal equity, and external market pay for comparable jobs. Comprehensive benefits are part of the total rewards package.
