Job summary

Mars is hiring a Procurement Operations Category Specialist to manage end-to-end inbound supply chain for packaging materials. You will partner with Sourcing Managers to implement regional/global strategies, act as primary factory liaison, and lead risk mitigation and issue resolution.

The role is full-time and on-site, requiring a bachelor’s or associate degree with relevant experience and strong communication skills. ERPs experience, especially SAP, is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or internship/1+ years in Supply Chain, Logistics or Procurement.
• Associate degree + 2+ years in Supply Chain, Logistics or Procurement.
• ERP systems experience; SAP a strong plus.
• Supplier Relationship Management/Manufacturing/Operations experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Purchase indirect goods/services aligned with strategic sourcing plan.
• Identify and manage supplier collaboration initiatives (forecasting, e-invoicing, process improvement).
• Direct oversight of a defined spend and maintain relationships with multiple suppliers and internal clients.
• Collaborate with Procurement, R&D and stakeholders on Packaging category.

We are currently hiring for a:

Procurement Operations Category Specialist to manage the end-to-end inbound supply chain for packaging materials in the direct sourcing area. Partner with our team of Sourcing Managers to drive the implementation of regional and global sourcing strategies across different Packaging Categories. Be the primary factory liaison, lead risk mitigation, and issue resolution of packaging materials. This is full time, on-site position.

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Materials Management, Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline plus internship(s) experience and/or one (1) or more years in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Procurement; OR an Associate’s Degree in a relevant field plus two (2) or more years of professional experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Procurement
• Ability to efficiently use ERP systems, with competency in SAP being a huge plus
• Experience in Supplier Relationship Management, Manufacturing, and/or Operations is preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Purchasing indirect goods and services that are aligned with our strategic sourcing plan
• Identifying and managing supplier collaboration initiatives (forecast management, e-invoicing, process streamlining)
• Direct oversight of a designated amount of spend, as well as maintaining strong relationships with numerous suppliers and multiple internal clients
• Closely collaborating with Procurement (Commercial Operations), R&D, and other stakeholders/peers regarding the Packaging category

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will include variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.

The pay range listed is applicable to IL:USD 74,511.00 - USD 102,453.00
