You will drive results through methods that include competitive bidding, negotiating, and analyzing data and market trends for your category.

The ideal candidate thinks long term, drives multiple initiatives, communicates appropriately and influences customers and suppliers at all levels. To be successful in this role you will be highly analytical; think strategically and globally; exhibit curiosity and learning drive; have a sense of urgency to meet customer timelines, succeed in a fast-paced environment; and have a high level of customer focus and business judgement. • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary; general manager / owner mentality
  • Demonstrated ability to dive deep in understanding the product, our business, and the competitive landscape
  • Ability to see ahead comprehensively and devise a strong plan of action, and ensure execution happens on time, every time
  • Ability to get things done and produce conclusive, measurable results within time commitments

A day in the life

As a Procurement Manager on the Data Center Construction Procurement team, you will own the end-to-end commercial relationship with General Contractors (GCs) delivering AWS data centers. No two days look the same — you might be negotiating a Guaranteed Maximum Price in the morning, reviewing schedule recovery options with a project team at midday, and evaluating GC proposals for a new campus RFP by close of business.

Day to day you will:
  • Drive competitive sourcing events — develop RFP strategies, evaluate contractor qualifications, and lead award recommendations for some of the largest construction programs in the industry.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts — structure contract amendments, negotiate change orders, and hold GCs accountable to cost, schedule, and safety commitments.
  • Partner cross-functionally — work alongside Construction, Design, Legal, Finance, and Program Management to remove blockers, align on delivery milestones, and ensure data center capacity comes online on time.
  • Analyze cost and risk — benchmark GC pricing, identify cost-savings opportunities, and flag commercial risks before they become schedule impacts.
  • Influence at scale — develop procurement playbooks, contract standards, and lessons‑learned that raise the bar across AWS's global data center portfolio.

You will support projects across multiple regions and have the opportunity to shape how AWS procures and delivers data center construction — locally and globally.
