Job summary

Parker Aerospace seeks a Procurement Manager to oversee daily procurement of materials for production and to drive lean initiatives across the function. You will lead supplier relationships and coordinate with operations, sourcing, and IT to optimize material flow and delivery.

The role reports to the Division Sourcing & Procurement Manager and requires 5–7 years in supply chain management with strong analytical and cost-reduction capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in business, engineering, or materials management; certification in SCM preferred.
  • Experience in supply chain leadership and procurement processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to automate and optimize cost and flow.

Position Summary

The Procurement Manager manages the daily activities of the procurement of raw materials, parts, equipment and operating supplies required for production of the Division’s products. Responsible for embracing and driving lean enterprise systems throughout the procurement process.

Will be responsible for providing ongoing leadership in partnering with suppliers, operations, sourcing, production planners, IT and other appropriate resources to strategically plan and coordinate the flow of materials and information from customers through procurement to delivery.

This role will have direct reports and will directly report to the Division Sourcing & Procurement Manager.

Essential Functions

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Responsibility for driving improvements across SLISC, PCI, OTP, OTR and Lead Time.
  • Supports sourcing of new products and new product introduction activities in line with Parker policies, processes, and strategy as assigned.
  • Lead and manage all procurement and materials management activities including order placement, supplier follow-up, and compliance with government procurement regulations.
  • Organizes, directs and implements cost-reduction activities to ensure maximum return to the division for minimum expenditures.
  • Maintains and builds supplier relationships and robust communication process.
  • Help define and implement automated systems to plan and track material flow from customers through procurement to delivery to support a supply chain management strategy.
  • Works with suppliers to develop and manage continuous improvement programs, addressing quality, delivery, service as well as price.
  • Leads continuous improvement activities and provides suggestions for cost reduction and improved efficiency.
  • Provide analytical support by monitoring metrics for the customer, management, and team, while also creating ad hoc analysis as needed.
  • Project leadership and support. Play an active and leading role in various cross functional and independent projects through management, analysis, or data development – with the ultimate goal of developing into a collaborative and cooperative team player on an organization-wide level.
  • Daily cross functional collaboration to meet expected division goals
  • Lead, direct work and Provide professional development for all team members.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5-7 years of supply chain and/or managerial experience.
  • Bachelor degree in business, engineering, or materials management required with certification in supply chain management preferred.
  • Possess analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend proper automation opportunities.
  • Must have functional understanding of cost accounting and adapt to practical application.
  • Must have advanced computer skills and be able to understand the electronic processing of MRP/ERP systems.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts.
  • Must be a problem solver and innovator with a growth mindset with practical lean principles and practices experience.
