Job summary

Hunt Forest Products, LLC, is seeking a Procurement Manager for its Taylor, LA sawmill to ensure a steady, cost-effective raw material supply. You will develop supply agreements with landowners and suppliers and oversee stumpage market analysis to secure favorable terms.

The role requires a BS in Forestry (SAF-accredited), knowledge of forest certifications (SFI, FSC, American Tree Farm), and timber procurement experience.

Qualifications

• BS in Forestry from SAF-accredited university.
• Knowledge of forest certification: SFI, FSC, and American Tree Farm.
• Procurement and management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a steady, cost-effective raw material supply.
• Develop supply agreements with landowners and suppliers.
• Monitor stumpage sales/gatewood and tract pricing.
• Maintain knowledge of timber markets and report log prices/availability.
• Manage log inventory and coordinate with Plant Manager on log quality/specifications.
• Coordinate log flow with other Procurement and Woodflow Managers.
• Promote and maintain a safe work environment.
• Develop and maintain SFI Fiber Sourcing Certification; assist with internal/audits.

Hunt Forest Products, LLC is currently accepting resumes for a Procurement Manager position at its state-of-the-art sawmill in Taylor, LA.

Role/Functions:

• Ensure a steady and cost-effective raw material supply to Bienville Lumber, LLC
• Develop and maintain supply agreements with Landowners and Suppliers
• Reconnaissance of Stumpage Sales/Gatewood and Tract Pricing
• Maintain knowledge of current timber markets/regularly scheduled reporting of log prices, availability, and market conditions
• Manage log inventory/Work with Plant Manager to ensure log quality and specification
• Coordinate Log Flow with other Procurement Managers and Woodflow Manager at Hunt Forest Products, LLC facilities
• Promote and maintain a safe work environment
• SFI Fiber Sourcing Certification-Develop and maintain certification at Bienville Lumber, LLC. Responsible for internal and annual audits for SFI Fiber Source Certification
• Reports to Woodflow Manager-Hunt Forest Products, LLC
• Moderate travel required
