Job summary

Belcan Corporation in Ogden, UT is seeking a Procurement Manager who will partner with division leaders as a subject matter expert in supply chain management. You will develop and manage the procurement function for goods and materials, identify cost-saving opportunities, and negotiate contracts to deliver optimal solutions.

This role reports to the Director of Procurement, Americas, with a dotted line to the General Manager in Ogden, and requires leadership of the procurement team, KPI

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of related Supply Chain Management experience in manufacturing or aerospace/defense.
• Progressive leadership with global perspective and cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong knowledge of production flow, inventory, and documentation procedures.
• Ability to negotiate contracts, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
• Excellent business and financial acumen with change leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead Ogden procurement organization with coaching and escalation for the team.
• Drive KPI performance for late release, on-time delivery, and costs/PPV.
• Develop supplier relationships and optimize sourcing to meet site needs.
• Lead strategic supplier initiatives and global/regional sourcing directions.
• Collaborate with engineering and QA to qualify new suppliers.
• Prepare bid packages and coach the procurement team on bids and negotiations.

Position Summary

The ideal candidate will partner with division leaders and will act as a subject matter expert in supply chain management. They will develop and manage the procurement function for goods and materials; identify cost saving opportunities, creating competitive environments, creatively negotiate/generate contracts and manage the delivery of optimal solutions. Core Responsibilities

• Lead procurement organization for Ogden providing coaching, management and escalation support for the team.
• Driving KPI performance metrics - late release, push/pull/cancel, delinquency/OTD and costs/PPV.
• Building supplier relationships and leading efforts to work with vendors to ensure OTD and cost needs for sites.
• Driving the sourcing strategy that delivers a competitive advantage including implementation of the strategic supplier initiatives. This includes supplier selection, development, and supplier consolidation to ensure sourcing optimization and overall supplier performance.
• Leading Global Purchase Family or Regional Commodity specific sourcing with full accountability for buy and meeting material deflation targets by setting strategic direction for global or regional sourcing professionals.
• Developing strategies and driving negotiations to meet the quality, fulfillment, and productivity requirements of the business.
• Sources and purchases machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging materials, parts, services and/or supplies necessary for operation of an organization.
• Compiles and analyzes statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives.
• Compiles information to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes.
• Confers with suppliers and analyzes suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
• Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects, or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, follows up on orders placed, verifies delivery, approves payment, and maintains necessary records.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering, and quality assurance, to identify or qualify new suppliers.
• Monitor and report on supplier performance and implement corrective action when required.
• Preparing bid packages, and coaching supporting procurement team as needed on bids and negotiations.
• Other related duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Five to ten (5-10) years of related Supply Chain Management experience in an Engineer-to-order manufacturing, OEM, aerospace, or defense environment.
• Demonstrated progressive career development with increasing responsibilities, with an emphasis in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of production flow, inventory flow, and documentation procedures.
• Strong business/financial acumen, proficient in leading and setting direction for teams, including demonstrated ability to motivate, influence and drive change at all levels of the organization.
• Excellent growth leadership skills demonstrating clear global perspective and understand factors impacting Aerospace businesses and our suppliers.
• Ability to organize time effectively to satisfactorily complete assigned tasks and functions. This includes planning of workflow and meetings.
• Excellent computer skills with an emphasis in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to effectively negotiate contracts, ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in appropriate Business or Technical discipline is required.
• APICS/ISM/Supply Chain certification is a plus.
