Job summary

Westinghouse Outdoor Power Equipment seeks a Procurement Manager to lead purchasing operations for outdoor electronic products, manage vendor relations, and align procurement activities with financial and operational goals.

You will monitor inventory levels, forecast safety stock, evaluate supplier performance, and participate in Demand Reviews while driving cost efficiency and compliance across the supply chain.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • At least five years of procurement or supply chain management experience.
  • At least two years of people management experience.
  • CPSM or similar credential preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leads purchasing operations and oversees acquisition of goods and services.
  • Maintains in-stock levels by managing purchase orders and requisitions.
  • Monitors inventory levels and safety stock to prevent shortages or overstocking.
  • Evaluates supplier performance by quality, delivery speed, and cost-efficiency.
  • Participates in Demand Reviews and prioritizes orders by current trends.
  • Owns the Item Master and Supplier Master; conducts market research on costing trends.
  • Recommends item classification to ensure appropriate focus based on item type.
  • Ensures procurement records are accurate and compliant with legal standards.

Job description

The Procurement Manager will lead the organization’s purchasing operations and oversee the acquisition of goods and services for outdoor electronic products. The individual in this role is responsible for maintaining in-stock levels, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring that all procurement activities align with the company’s financial and operational goals.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Ensures in-stock rates through placing and managing purchase orders and requisitions with long lead times.
  • Monitors and forecasts inventory levels and safety stock to prevent shortages or overstocking.
  • Calls out risks to supply and takes action to minimize lost sales.
  • Provides decision support for fully landed cost and lead time tradeoffs.
  • Evaluates supplier performance based on quality, delivery speed, and cost-efficiency.
  • Participates in Demand Reviews and prioritizes orders according to current trends.
  • Owns the Item Master and Supplier Master.
  • Conducts market research to keep pace with costing trends.
  • Participates in the requirements definition and selection process for Supply and Demand Planning software.
  • Recommends item classification (A/B/C Methodology) to ensure appropriate level of focus depending on the nature of the item.
  • Maintains accurate records of purchases, pricing, changes to order flow, and other important details for decision support.
  • Ensures all procurement activities comply with legal and ethical standards.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly with cost-benefit analysis.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills to mentor a procurement team.
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks as appropriate.
  • Highly Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, especially Excel.
  • Proficiency with ERP/Procurement software; familiarity with NetSuite is a ‘plus’.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field required.
  • At least five years of related experience in procurement or supply chain management required.
  • At least two years of people management experience required.
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or similar credential preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new procurement staff.
  • Oversees the daily workflow and purchasing cycles of the department.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
