Job summary

KRUSH Tech in Austin, TX is seeking a seasoned Procurement Manager to lead direct and indirect purchasing for a fast-growing hardware company building defense, aerospace, and autonomous systems. You will manage supplier relationships, drive cost savings, and align purchasing with production plans.

You will coach the purchasing team, collaborate with planning, engineering, and finance, and ensure procurement processes meet internal controls and performance KPIs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management with leadership responsibility.
  • Strong experience in supplier negotiations, commercial management, and supply chain operations.
  • Background in managing direct materials, components, and supplier relationships in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting new product introduction and supplier readiness for ongoing and new programs.
  • Knowledge of purchasing processes, cost analysis, supplier performance management, and risk mitigation.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with ability to develop teams and drive results through collaboration and accountability.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems, purchasing tools, KPI reporting, and continuous improvement methods (Lean, Six Sigma).

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day purchasing activities to ensure uninterrupted supply of materials and services.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address issues related to delivery, quality, capacity, responsiveness, and service levels.
  • Work with planning, supply chain, warehouse, engineering, quality, and operations to align purchasing with production needs.
  • Support new product introduction with early supplier involvement and timely sourcing of components.
  • Lead resolution of supply-related escalations, shortages, and continuity risks with mitigation plans.
  • Review and approve purchase plans and recommendations to align with policies and customer needs.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through quotation analysis, supplier consolidation, and negotiations.
  • Ensure procurement processes and supplier documentation meet internal procedures.
  • Track and report procurement KPIs such as cost savings, on-time delivery, and lead-time improvements.
  • Collaborate with finance and materials teams to support inventory targets and cash flow.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the purchasing team for improved performance.
  • Support purchasing planning for current and future needs, including base optimization.

As a ProcurementManageryou will be responsible forleading the organization’spurchasingactivities(Direct & Indirect)to ensure thetimely, cost-effective, and strategic acquisition of materials, components, and servicesrequiredto support production and business operations. This role oversees supplier management,purchasingperformance and processes for both existing business and new product introduction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage day-to-day purchasingactivities(according to MRP)to ensure uninterrupted supply of materials and servicesrequiredfor production and customer commitments.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address issues related to delivery, quality, capacity, responsiveness, and service levels.
  • Work closely with planning, supply chain, warehouse, engineering, quality, and operations teams to alignpurchasingactivities with production requirements and business priorities.
  • Support new product introduction by ensuring early supplier involvement,timelysourcing of components, and readiness ofpurchasedmaterials for launch.
  • Lead the resolution of supply-related escalations, shortages, and continuity risks, while developing mitigation and recovery plans.
  • Review andapprovepurchase plans,recommendationsand decisions to ensure alignment with company policies and customer needs.
  • Identifyand implement cost-saving opportunities through quotation analysis, supplier consolidation, should-cost reviews, and negotiation initiatives.
  • Ensure procurement processes, purchasing controls, and supplier-related documentation are maintained in compliance with internal procedures and business requirements.
  • Track and reportprocurementKPIs such as cost savings, supplier performance, on-time delivery, purchase price variance, lead-time improvements, and risk exposure.
  • Collaborate with finance and materials teams to support inventory targets, cash flow goals, and overall working capital performance.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the purchasingteam to strengthen performance, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Supportpurchasingplanning for both current and future business needs, including supply base optimization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
