Job summary

Parallel Systems, Inc. is building autonomous battery-electric rail vehicles to move freight from trucks to rail, headquartered near Los Angeles.

The Procurement Specialist will own the purchasing process, from RFQs to PO delivery, and will partner with engineering, operations, and suppliers to ensure accurate parts, on-time commitments, and proactive risk management. This hands-on role offers growth into strategic sourcing and supplier selection as the team matures.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles.
• Experience managing RFQs, POs, suppliers, and delivery timelines.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems.

Responsibilities

• Own RFQs and purchase orders from request through delivery, negotiating pricing and lead times.
• Confirm supplier commitments, ship dates, and track deliveries while escalating risks early.
• Collaborate with engineering to understand upcoming purchasing and inventory needs.
• Evaluate supplier capability against technical, quality, capacity, and lead-time requirements.
