GM Performance Power Units LLC is seeking a motivated Procurement Intern to support purchasing and supply chain activities for a Formula 1 Performance Power Unit team. This hands-on internship provides real-world experience working with experienced buyers, engineers, and manufacturing teams at our Concord, NC site.

You will assist with purchase orders, supplier communications, onboarding, and cost tracking, while learning the IFS ERP system and procurement basics in a fast-paced automotive

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in SCM, business, or related field.
• Automotive or energy industry experience preferred.
• Proficient in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Responsabilités

• Assist buyers with purchasing components, materials, and equipment.
• Help create and track purchase orders for accuracy and timely delivery.
• Communicate with suppliers to follow up on orders and resolve basic issues.
• Support supplier onboarding and documentation collection.
• Maintain accurate procurement and inventory records.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to understand part requirements.
• Assist with cost tracking and basic reporting.
• Support urgent and just-in-time (JIT) delivery needs as required.
• Learn IFS ERP system for purchase requisition and purchase order creation.
• Generate IFS reports as needed to assist team in forecasting.

This is a hands‑on opportunity to learn procurement operations in a fast‑paced, high‑performance environment while working closely with experienced buyers, engineers, and manufacturing teams. This role is ideal for students looking to gain real‑world experience in supply chain and purchasing within the automotive and motorsports industry.

Job Location:

On‑Site in Concord, NC

Key Responsibilities

• Assist buyers with purchasing components, materials, and equipment
• Help create and track purchase orders for accuracy and timely delivery
• Communicate with suppliers to follow up on orders and resolve basic issues
• Support supplier onboarding and documentation collection
• Maintain accurate procurement and inventory records
• Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to understand part requirements
• Assist with cost tracking and basic reporting

Qualifications

• Current college/university students seeking Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field
• Automotive and/or Energy industry experience
• Basic understanding of procurement software and materials management
• Knowledge of IFS for procurement and financial management, preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
