Shorr Packaging Corp. in Aurora, IL is seeking an intern to gain hands-on experience supporting the commodities and corrugated buying teams.

You will help procure goods and services, ensure compliance with policies, and collaborate with sales, customer service, logistics, and inventory leadership. You will also work with vendors to process purchase orders and resolve invoices, plus complete a capstone project to present to supply chain leadership.

Responsibilities

• Assist with replenishment of products within preferred suppliers to maximize inventory performance.
• Conduct cost analysis across categories.
• Support buyers in daily analysis of key reports and process purchase orders for general and customer stock.
• Interact with suppliers to support cost negotiation and data integrity.
• Assist buyers in cost savings activities.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings to understand end-to-end supply chain.
• Analyze inventory performance to meet working capital KPIs.
• Complete a capstone project to be assigned on boarding.

As an intern, you will gain hands‑on experience supporting both the commodities and corrugated buying teams. This position will support the buying teams in the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulations. This position will also have cross functional exposure with sales, customer service, logistics and our corporate inventory management and leadership teams. You will also work with vendors to ensure our purchase orders are processed timely and delivered as expected as well as invoice resolution. You will also be assigned a strategic project to complete and present to supply chain leadership.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the replenishment of products within a collection of preferred suppliers to maximize performance of inventory following established policies and procedures.
• Conduct cost analysis across categories
• Help buyers with their daily analysis of key reports that drive optimal replenishment. Analyze inventory needs and process purchase orders accordingly for general and customer dedicated stock.
• Interact with selected suppliers; support the cost negotiation and manage the integrity of data and cost.
• Assist the buyers in their cost savings activities.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings to better understand the end-to-end supply chain
• Analyze inventory performance to ensure we are meeting working capital KPI's
• Complete a capstone project to be assigned at the time of coming on board

Compensation

The base pay range for this role is $19 - $19 per hour.
