Job summary

Vistra Nuclear Operations Company is seeking an experienced engineer to manage generation technologies within the Vistra portfolio. The role focuses on analysis, implementation, and project leadership across commercial and environmental technology applications at Davis-Besse.

The position requires a BS in engineering, a PE license or equivalent experience, and strong communication skills to interact with peers and external agencies. 8+ years of power plant operations/engineering are expected.

Qualifications

• BS or higher in an engineering discipline.

• Knowledge of regulatory, code, and industry issues affecting Vistra.
• Experience with fossil, solar, battery, or nuclear plant tech.

Key Accountabilities

• Technical support for the development of commercial / environmental / reliability / sustainability interests in new technology applications.
• T echnical support to Operations in the application of technologies at operating plants or plants in development
• Perform root cause analysis
• Provide innovative solutions for difficult problems
• Contributes to economic justification/analysis for projects
• Participate in and lead special projects or teams

Education, Experience & Skill Requirements

• BS or greater in an Engineering discipline
• Licensed Professional Engineer or meets additional years of experience requirements
• Demonstrates and applies knowledge of current and pending regulatory, code and general industry issues to resolve Vistra's interests.
• Proficient with technical evaluation processes.
• Proficient in fossil, solar , battery , or nuclear plant technologies
• Minimum 8 years experience in power plant operations / engineering or comparable industries
• Demonstrates application of fundamental scientific principles
• Communication -Must be able to effectively communicate with peers, management and/or represent Vistra's interests to outside agencies
• Able to execute projects/strategies with some oversight.
• Demonstrated high performer through consecutive evaluations or work history for external candidates.

• Maintain effective working relationships. Be able to explain technical information to ensure work/repairs completed correctly.
