Job summary

Foster Farms is seeking a procurement support professional to assist with indirect materials across multiple operations. Responsibilities include managing requisitions, creating purchase orders, and ensuring on-time delivery using Excel and SAP.

Your role will also involve supplier qualification support, cost reduction initiatives, and clear communication with internal customers. This is a 6–9 month assignment with potential for transition based on business needs.

Qualifications

• Assignment duration 6–9 months.
• Proficient in MS Office and SAP; strong Excel formulas.
• High school diploma required; business school/college preferred; bachelor's preferred.
• 1–3 years purchasing experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Initiative, analytical mindset, able to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to handle confidential information in a fast-paced team.

Responsibilities

• Daily buying support: requisitions, POs, invoice resolution, and records management.
• Ensure on-time delivery and adapt to schedule changes.
• Support supplier qualifications and new/modified goods transitions.
• Initiate and issue RFPs/Quotes under guidance of Agent or Manager.
• Perform data analysis with Excel and SAP.
• Track metrics such as corrective actions and cost savings.
• Explain policies to internal customers in writing and verbally.
• Support cost reduction opportunities.

Pay Range: $21.30 - $25.10 per hour

(Additional $1.00 per hour for hours worked between 7:00pm and 11:59pm. Additional $2.00 per hour worked between 12:00am-4:59am)

Job Description

To provide direct support for the procurement and supply of Indirect materials for multiple operations and food processing facilities.

Essential Job Functions

• Daily Buying Support for a mix of indirect materials. Will include managing purchase requisitions, creating & issuing purchase orders, order confirmation, invoice resolution support and maintaining department records and documentation.
• Responsible for ensuring on-time delivery and adapting to new schedule requirements.
• Responsible for supporting new supplier qualifications, plus any transition of new/modified goods/services.
• Will initiate, develop, and issue RFP's/Quotes for various purchases under Agent or Manager's direction.
• Perform research and data analysis with frequent use of Excel and SAP.
• Gather data and track various department metrics, such as corrective actions, inventory use, cost savings.
• Will be required to explain policies and procedures to internal customers in writing and verbally and support compliance with internal controls.
• Responsible for supporting cost reduction opportunities.

Qualifications

Requirements

• Expected duration of assignment is 6-9 months.
• Computer literate in Microsoft Office and strong understanding of SAP resource platform, and must have a strong understanding using and creating MS Excel spread sheets, including formulas, in order to manage detailed information.
• Must have high school diploma, prefer one-two year's business school or college, and strongly prefer Bachelor's degree.
• One-three years purchasing experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Initiative, sound analytical skills and ability to organize work independently with a minimum of supervision.
• Must be able to handle and safeguard confidential information and have the desire to work in a fast-paced team environment.
