Job summary

TEKsystems in Bloomfield, CT is seeking a Buyer to support procurement and supply chain operations and ensure the timely availability of materials, components, and services required to meet production needs.

This hybrid/on-site role involves creating and expediting purchase orders, managing supplier relationships, and collaborating with Planning, Manufacturing, Logistics, Engineering, and Finance to optimize inventory and control costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field preferred.
• 1-5 years of procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or materials management experience.
• Experience managing purchase orders and supplier relationships in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Create, manage, and expedite purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of materials and services.
• Build and maintain supplier relationships while monitoring supplier performance, quality, and delivery metrics.
• Collaborate with Planning, Manufacturing, Logistics, Engineering, and Finance teams to support operational requirements.
• Identify and resolve supply chain issues, shortages, and delivery risks.
• Maintain accurate procurement data, pricing, supplier records, and system information.
• Support inventory optimization, cost-control initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and established procedures.
