eNetwork Supply (eNS) is a provider of new and pre-owned equipment serving the cable, IT, data center, broadband, and telecommunications industries.
We are seeking a Procurement / Buyback Specialist to join our team in Skokie, IL. This position will play a key role in our hardware acquisition and value recovery efforts, identifying opportunities to purchase surplus, excess, and decommissioned technology equipment.
The ideal candidate has experience in IT/electronic hardware procurement, IT Asset Disposition (ITAD), asset recovery, refurbished electronics, buybacks, or a related field and understands how to evaluate equipment, determine market value, negotiate purchases, and build strong B2B relationships.
What You’ll Do
Asset Acquisition & Procurement
- Identify and purchase surplus, excess, and decommissioned telecom, broadband, IT, and data center equipment.
- Evaluate equipment inventories and determine potential market and resale value.
- Negotiate purchase agreements, asset recovery contracts, buybacks, and bulk inventory acquisitions.
- Source equipment through direct customer outreach, auctions, liquidation opportunities, and industry contacts.
- Identify opportunities to recover value from surplus and end-of-life network assets.
- Prepare competitive purchase offers and asset disposition proposals.
- Coordinate the acquisition and return of purchased equipment into company inventory.
- Develop and maintain relationships with telecom carriers, broadband providers, utilities, contractors, data centers, and enterprise customers.
- Build relationships with procurement, network operations, engineering, and facilities teams.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for organizations looking to sell or dispose of excess equipment and materials.
- Generate new opportunities through targeted B2B outreach, industry networking, and trade shows.
- Coordinate site visits and equipment inventory assessments.
- Maintain and manage a pipeline of active opportunities and purchase offers.
Equipment Evaluation & Valuation
- Review bills of materials (BOMs), inventory lists, and equipment reports.
- Evaluate equipment based on condition, age, current demand, functionality, and potential resale value.
- Analyze buying trends and available market information to support purchasing decisions.
- Identify equipment with strong resale and value-recovery potential.
Equipment & Technology
Candidates should have familiarity with IT, telecommunications, broadband, networking, or data center hardware. Equipment may include:
- Fiber optic cable and fiber reels
- OSP materials, including pedestals, cabinets, handholes, conduit, and related hardware
- Calix, Adtran, Nokia, Cisco, Juniper, Ciena, and similar network electronics
- Routers and switches
- Optical transport equipment
- Network access platforms
- Data center servers and storage
- Racks and power equipment
- Antennas and wireless infrastructure
- Generators
- UPS systems
- Batteries and power distribution equipment
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience procuring IT/electronic hardware, IT Asset Disposition (ITAD), purchasing, refurbished electronics, asset recovery, buybacks, or a closely related field.
- Strong technical understanding of hardware such as servers, networking equipment, storage, telecom equipment, or commercial technology.
- Ability to assess equipment condition, functionality, market demand, and potential resale value.
- Strong negotiation skills with the confidence and resilience to conduct B2B outreach and close purchasing opportunities.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills with the ability to evaluate buying trends, pricing, and potential asset value.
- Experience maintaining accurate records using spreadsheets and/or CRM systems.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple purchasing opportunities, offers, and relationships simultaneously.
- Ability to commute to the Skokie, IL location for an on-site position.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Procurement & Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related technical field required.
Starting salary: $65,000 -$75,000 per year
