Your Role
Procurement Associate – responsible for providing tactical procurement support for the Elwood Site, ensuring the reliable and cost‑effective supply of all materials and services necessary. The role includes MRP or NPM procurement and one‑time purchases, liaises with other sites in the Americas and contributes to the Global Elanco Procurement Team. It also involves broader initiatives such as Global Procurement Process Transformation and supporting Elanco's Growth, Innovation, and Cash Initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Act as a primary contact for site procurement activities, providing tactical support for purchase order life cycle from processing through delivery and invoice payment to order closure.
- Support all site functions—Manufacturing, Capital, and Maintenance—for their procurement activities.
- Perform tasks in SAP including creation and release of purchase orders, monitoring delivery dates, reviewing inventory levels, and analyzing spend data to identify opportunities for cost savings and value creation.
- Lead local sourcing projects from strategy development, supplier selection, contract negotiation to ongoing relationship management with suppliers and cross‑functional teams.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with key suppliers, manage invoice discrepancies and support vendors with their invoice issues.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, supply chain or related field, or 3 years equivalent experience in procurement in a cGMP manufacturing environment or other regulated industry.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years in a procurement role.
- Strong understanding of purchasing concepts, strategies, and overall supply‑chain operations in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to create and/or modify processes or procedures to align with best practices.
- Legally authorized to be employed in the United States; no visa sponsorship.
