Responsibilities

  • Spend Analysis & Cost Optimization: Analyze oncology and specialty drug spend data to identify cost-saving opportunities, pricing variances, and margin improvement potential.
  • Market Intelligence & Supplier Evaluation: Monitor market trends, drug shortages, recalls, biosimilar launches, and new oncology drug approvals.
  • Contract & Vendor Support: Assist with contract analysis, rebate tracking, and compliance monitoring for pharmaceutical purchasing agreements.
  • Inventory & Supply Continuity Analytics: Analyze inventory levels, turns, expiration risk, and waste for high-cost oncology medications.
  • Reporting & Dashboards: Create and maintain procurement reports and dashboards covering drug spend, cost trends, contract performance, and savings initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with pharmacy, finance, revenue cycle, compliance, and clinical leaders to align procurement activities with goals.
  • Process Improvement & Technology: Use procurement software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel/analytics tools to streamline data collection and reporting.

Description

RCCA is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Procurement Analyst to support the strategic sourcing, purchasing, and financial performance of oncology pharmaceuticals and specialty medications across a large, multi-site oncology practice. This role focuses on data analysis, market intelligence, supplier performance tracking, and reporting to help ensure reliable drug availability, optimized acquisition costs, strong reimbursement alignment, and operational efficiency.

Working closely with the procurement team, pharmacy leadership, finance, revenue cycle, and clinical stakeholders, the Analyst translates complex spend, inventory, and market data into actionable insights that support informed procurement decisions and continuous improvement in the oncology drug supply chain.

Compensation: $85,000 - $120,000 annually

Key Responsibilities
Spend Analysis & Cost Optimization
  • Analyze oncology and specialty drug spend data to identify cost-saving opportunities, pricing variances, and margin improvement potential.
  • Evaluate purchasing channels (manufacturers, specialty distributors, GPOs, wholesalers, and specialty pharmacies) to support optimal pricing and rebate performance.
  • Track acquisition costs versus expected reimbursement and flag opportunities to improve buy-and-bill results.
Market Intelligence & Supplier Evaluation
  • Monitor market trends, drug shortages, recalls, biosimilar launches, and new oncology drug approvals.
  • Conduct research on potential suppliers and evaluate supplier capabilities, reliability, and performance.
  • Support assessment of biosimilar and alternative therapy opportunities with data-driven recommendations.
Contract & Vendor Support
  • Assist with contract analysis, rebate tracking, and compliance monitoring for pharmaceutical purchasing agreements.
  • Prepare data packages and performance summaries to support negotiations and annual contract reviews.
  • Track vendor performance metrics and highlight risks or improvement opportunities.
Inventory & Supply Continuity Analytics
  • Analyze inventory levels, turns, expiration risk, and waste for high-cost oncology medications.
  • Support shortage monitoring, allocation tracking, and contingency planning with timely data and reporting.
  • Provide analytical support when clinical teams need alternative product or pathway options during supply disruptions.
Reporting & Dashboards
  • Create and maintain procurement reports and dashboards covering drug spend, cost trends, contract performance, inventory health, and savings initiatives.
  • Prepare clear summaries and presentations for procurement leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Respond to ad-hoc data requests from pharmacy, finance, and operations teams.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with pharmacy, finance, revenue cycle, compliance, and clinical leaders to align procurement activities with operational and financial goals.
  • Participate in meetings related to formulary considerations, biosimilar adoption, and cost-containment initiatives by providing relevant analysis.
  • Collaborate with finance to ensure procurement activities remain aligned with budgetary targets.
Process Improvement & Technology
  • Use procurement software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel/analytics tools to streamline data collection and reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, data quality, and reporting efficiency.
  • Support documentation and audit readiness related to pharmaceutical purchasing and inventory controls.

Requirements

Required Qualifications
