Job summary

Goodwill Valleys in Roanoke, VA is seeking a full-time Retail Associate to support sorting and display of hardline goods. You will ensure salable items meet quality standards, price merchandise, stock shelves, and manage markdowns and rotations.

Ideal candidates read, write, communicate clearly, perform basic math, work well independently and as part of a team, and maintain a neat, customer-friendly appearance. Compensation starts at $14.00 per hour.

Summary

Responsible for sorting of hardline goods into salable or salvage categories. Selection of salable goods must meet quality standards while maintaining quantity of hard lines inventory. Responsible for pricing of merchandise, stocking shelves, mark-downs, rotating and displaying merchandise.

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally.
• Ability to perform basic math skills.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with managers, team members, customers, and donors.

Special Requirements

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the retail space.
• Able to stand, bend and reach.
• Able to lift, push, pull, carry, or otherwise move up to forty (40) pounds with no support regularly. Over forty (40) pounds request for additional team member assistance as needed.
• Able to perform tasks that require repetitive motion. Manual dexterity is required.
