Job summary

Origin Mining Company (OMC) seeks a seasoned Metallurgy Leader for the Mineral Park Concentrator in Kingman, AZ. You will direct metallurgical control, laboratory activities, and accounting to meet recovery, throughput, and product targets.

Your background includes 8–10 years in concentrator metallurgy, especially flotation, with proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver process improvements in a challenging mining environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 8–10 years of experience in concentrator metallurgy with leadership in flotation.
  • Proven ability to lead metallurgical, laboratory, or process-control teams and influence cross-functional performance.
  • Strong knowledge of comminution, copper/molybdenum flotation, process control, metallurgical accounting, and optimization.
  • Experience with metallurgical accounting, statistical process analysis, and performance monitoring systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with metallurgical software and PI/historian systems preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

Origin Mining Company ("OMC") is a distinguished copper mining company that owns the open-pit Mineral Park copper and molybdenum mine in Kingman, Arizona. Our mission is to extract copper and molybdenum resources in a sustainable manner while making a positive impact on the local economy by creating high-quality employment. OMC is dedicated to operating with integrity and transparency. We are currently operating a hydromet and concentrator operation at the Mineral Park Mine and meet the growing global demand for copper.

Position Overview:
Serve as the technical authority for the Mineral Park Concentrator, providing metallurgical direction and leading process control, laboratory operations, and metallurgical accounting. The role provides the technical guidance required to achieve recovery, throughput, and product quality targets established by the Director of Process Operations through the optimization of metallurgy, flotation performance, reagent schemes, and process performance.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Metallurgy, Process Control, Flotation, Laboratory, and Metallurgical Accounting functions, providing technical leadership and direction to the concentrator.

  • Develop metallurgical strategies, technical standards, and operating practices for the milling and flotation circuits.

  • Optimize flotation performance, metallurgical recovery, concentrate quality, and reagent consumption to achieve production targets.

  • Monitor plant performance, analyze metallurgical data, investigate production losses, and implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Manage laboratory QA/QC, sampling programs, and metallurgical accounting to ensure accurate process monitoring and reporting.

  • Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Mine Engineering, and Mine Planning to improve plant performance and support operational decision-making.

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, reagent procurement, and the execution of technical and capital improvement projects.

  • Promote a strong culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and technical excellence.
    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • 8–10 years of experience in concentrator metallurgy, including technical leadership within a flotation concentrator.

  • Demonstrated experience leading metallurgical, laboratory, or process control teams, with the ability to influence cross-functional operational performance.

  • Strong technical knowledge of comminution, copper and molybdenum flotation, process control, metallurgical accounting, and process optimization.

  • Experience with metallurgical accounting, statistical process analysis, and performance monitoring systems.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with metallurgical software and PI/historian systems is preferred.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical leadership skills.
    Physical Demands:
    To be eligible for this position, an individual must possess the following requirements to perform the essential job functions:

  • Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking on uneven surfaces, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion.

  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in all kinds of weather.

  • Able to operate a telephone and mine phone/radio with sufficient voice and hearing to carry on a conversation for the purpose of communicating information.

  • Able to hear sufficiently to distinguish various pitches of warning alarms.

  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds periodically.
