Job description

Job location: 3000 W Lomita Blvd., Torrance, CA 90505, US (On‑site).

Job schedule: Full time.

Responsibilities

Processing Tech III responsible for set‑up, operation, and maintenance of miscellaneous plating machines, processing of parts, and meeting print, and specification requirements.

• Process parts to meet Government, Manufacturing and Environmental Specifications
• Clean parts free of oil and grease per departmental specifications
• Ensure parts are clean prior to chemical immersion
• Sort parts to separate media, defected parts, FOD and uniformity
• Paint, dip, hand blast, and tumble parts
• Strip all coatings from OD/ID of parts
• Apply olive drab chromate with color or clear after CAD Plate
• Use machines such as Hand Blast, Auto Blast, Tumble DeBurr, Jenfab, Hoist, Spin Dryer, lube booth equipment
• Apply copper, nickel, silver, zinc and cadmium coatings to metal parts and conversion coatings to cadmium plated and aluminum parts
• Makes voltage and amperage adjustments to proper current density of plating baths
• Maintains pH level and proper chemical concentrations of all plating baths
• Performs hydrogen relief treatments after plating and chemical cleaning operations as required by applicable specifications
• Inspects a representative sample of each plating load to ensure proper coverage and adhesion
• Measures plating thickness utilizing x‑ray method and instruments such as micrometer, magna‑gage and dermitron
• Purges plating solutions periodically by carbon treating and dummy plating and maintains plating solution cleanliness
• Parts to be lifted and/or transported may weigh up to 30 lbs
• Train other operators as required
• Maintains a clean and orderly workplace in accordance with 5S standards
• Performs other tasks of equal or lesser skill as required

Qualifications

• 3+ years of aerospace plating experience or relevant industry
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
• This position entails access to export‑controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
