Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design shipper cases, pallet pattern, cartons and trays for Brand and B2B commercialization projects.
• Work with R&D and operations on process design of new product.
• Ensure packaging equipment (sealer, cartoner, case packer, etc.) is compatible with new packaging formats.
• Work with the engineering team to get the appropriate change parts and new machines for new packaging formats.
• Able to estimate investment if needed for a new process line or packaging.
• Support R&D and finance with packaging portion of costing recipes in a timely manner.
• Assist packaging-related problems with production and QA.
• Interact with outside B2B customers in packaging and process design.
• Plan and conduct trials with R&D to ensure process flow and machine setup meet quality.
• Monitor first production period to ensure operation performance and yield; identify improvements.

#Eng-IT-01 Processing & Packaging Engineer Location: Vernon, CA on-site Monday through Friday. Status: Full-time direct hire Compensation: $85,000 to $110,000 DOE Experience level: 5 years of experience in food packaging and design. BS in Engineering * Unable to provide sponsorship of any kind now or in the future (F1-OPT) or work with third party firms (C2C)

SUMMARY:

Responsible for overseeing the design,development, and implementation of packaging solutions for Brand and B2B commercializationprojects. This role involves close collaboration with R&D, production, and finance teams to ensurepackaging components meet cost and quality requirements while supporting production needs. The manager will also be responsible for troubleshooting packaging issues, managing engineeringprojects, and coordinating plant trials for new SKUs. Additional duties include creating productionflows, ensuring compatibility between packaging equipment and formats, conducting meetings,and assisting with packaging-related customer requests. This role plays a critical part in improvingpackaging efficiency and quality across various production lines, including identifying cost-effective alternatives and implementing continuous improvements.

• Working with R&D for planning and conducting trial run to ensure process flow and machine set up point met product quality requirement
• Monitoring first production period to ensure operation performance, speed, yield loss follow target costing. Find improvement point if needed.
• Manage special engineering projects such as new line set up.
• Support Packaging equipment in production line
• Lead continuous improvement in working teams such as loss reduction in meal line andyield improvement in chicken processing
• Cost improvement on packaging alternatives and improve packaging quality

Required Qualifications:
