Job summary

Accurus Aerospace Tulsa is seeking a production technician to prepare parts and set up, operate, or tend machines to coat a wide variety of metal products. The role is safety-sensitive and requires ITAR compliance; US Person status applies.

Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM, with on-boarding and hands-on training. Candidate must be able to read gauges, mix coatings, and document process data as part of daily operations.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Six months to one year related experience preferred.
  • Windows experience is a plus.
  • Experience may not be required but is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Observe machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects or deviations from standards, and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Determine coating quality by performing visual inspections, or by using viscometers.
  • Weigh or measure chemicals or coatings before adding them to machines.
  • Prepare parts and set up and operate machines to coat products.
  • Turn dials, handwheels, valves, or switches to regulate conveyor speeds, machine temperature, air pressure and circulation, and the flow or spray of coatings.
  • Start and stop operation of machines, using levers or buttons.
  • Record operational data on specified forms.
  • Start pumps to mix solutions and fill tanks.
  • Operate auxiliary machines or equipment used in coating processes.
  • Fill hoppers, reservoirs, troughs, or pans with material used to process parts.
  • Perform test runs to ensure that equipment is set up properly.
  • Clean machines and related equipment and work areas.

POSITION SUMMARY

Prepare parts, and set up, operate, or tend machines to coat a wide variety of metal products.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 6am-4:30pm
This schedule reflects current business demand and is subject to change at any time.

  • First day of Orientation would be from 9 am – 4:30 pm
  • After first day, you will be able to come in at 6 am to continue your online training.
  • Once on the shop floor, you will spend the next 3 weeks of training on day shift with the Processing Supervisor.
  • When determined, you will be able to start your normal shift.
This position is classified as safety-sensitive. This role is identified as requiring ITAR compliance; therefore, qualified candidates must meet the definition of a U.S. Person (per EAR Part 772 and ITAR 120.15):

  • Attach hoses or nozzles to machines, using wrenches and pliers, and make adjustments to obtain theproper functionality.
  • Remove materials, parts, or workpieces from racks, using hand tools.
  • Transfer completed items or products from machines to drying or storage areas, using handcarts, hand trucks, or cranes.
  • Attach and align machine parts such as rollers, guides, brushes, and blades, using hand tools.
  • Examine, measure, weigh, or test sample products to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Perform other incidental duties as may be required.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

To perform the essential functions of the role, employees must be able to perform thefollowing activities with or without reasonable accommodations:

  • Regularly stand and walk throughout the facility, stand for long periods to
    perform job duties
  • Regularly lift, carry (short distances), and push/pull up to 100 pounds using
    peer assistance and/or other lifting & material handling equipment
  • Periodically lift overhead and carry, push/pull up to 50 pounds
  • Occasionally reaches overhead and reaches out or down to perform duties
  • Frequently climb steps, stairs, or ladders
  • Occasionally bend, crawl, stoop, squat, or kneel
  • Frequently uses hand or fingers to manually inspect parts, tighten hardware &fixtures, and operate machine and material handling controls
  • Accurately distinguish colors to respond to sensors, indicators, and color-variable dashboards
  • Visual acuity to interpret readings on gauges and other measuring devices

Working Conditions
Work is performed in a lab within the manufacturing shop environment where workingconditions may vary significantly; the employee will be exposed to:

  • Moderate to excessive noise (hearing protection required)
  • Extreme temperatures (occasionally)
  • Hazardous chemicals & lab equipment
  • Hazardous equipment including forklifts, hand tools, cranes or other lifting
    devices, and other equipment used in a machine shop environment
    (continually)

The use of PPE, including hearing protection, eye and hand protection, respiratory protection, and use of safety footwear may be required
